DAFF Biosecurity Processing & Inspection Fee Increases – Effective 1 July 2026
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has announced its annual indexation of regulatory fees and charges for biosecurity and imported food activities.
These changes will take effect from 1 July 2026 and will impact a range of import processing, assessment, and inspection charges.
Some of the fees most relevant to importers include:
- Full Import Declaration (FID) – Air increasing from $46.00 to $48.00 per declaration
- Full Import Declaration (FID) – Sea increasing from $68.00 to $71.00 per declaration
- In-office assessment & document processing (per 15 minutes) increasing from $40.00 to $42.00
- Out-of-office inspection fees (per 15 minutes) increasing from $67.00 to $70.00
- Weekend/Public Holiday inspection fees (per 15 minutes after the minimum attendance charge) increasing from $90.00 to $93.00
Overall, there is a $2-3 increase for each service fee.
The revised charges will apply to entries and services processed from 1 July 2026.
